๐Ÿ“ฟโค๏ธA mala is simply a string of beads that are used in a meditation practice. It is a tool to help you count mantras, and acts as a tactile guide as you sit in silence.

๐Ÿ“ฟ๐ŸงกMala beads have been used by yogis and spiritual seekers for thousands of years to help keep their minds focused during meditation.ย

๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ’œMalas were first created in India 3000 years ago (with roots in Hinduism & Buddhism) and were used for a special style of meditation called Japa, which means, "to recite". The term 'mala' is a Sanskrit word for "meditation garland."

๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ’šThe tasselโ€™s significance has multiple meanings. One that resonates with us is that as the strings come together as one to form the tassel, it represents our connection to the divine and to each other.

๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ’™ what to do... firstly sit down comfortably with your mala. The mala should be held with the left hand, and you start your recitation of your Mantra at the first bead after the tassel. Mantra meditation is the practice of a word or phrase that you repeat. You can find lots of mantras online, or simply repeat an affirmation, such as โ€˜I am strongโ€™ or โ€˜I am a magnet for successโ€™ ๐Ÿ’ž repeat this phrase or mantra for every bead until you have completed the entire row of beads ๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ“ฟโค๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ’œย
